Christmas Wrap Up

One of my New Year's resolutions was to post on my blog more often. We are already a week into the new year, and this is my first post. It has been so long since I've posted that I want to post some photos of Christmas. We had a wonderful holiday with lots of family time. I hope you had the same.

This is the Christmas quilt that hung over the railing at the top of my stairs. The center is a feathered star that I made for a round robin and then decided to do something else. The blocks are from a Dear Jane Christmas swap a few years ago.

This is one of the Christmas cactus that my friend, Vicky, from Wisconsin gave me last April. I was surprised that I could make it bloom, but here it is.

I made these wine totes for Christmas presents. The pattern can be found in the book Let's Do Lunch by Terry Atkinson. This book has lots of quick to do table runners and tote bags.

We went to my son and daughter-in-laws house for New Year's Day. We had afternoon tea and scones. Later that day we had tortilla soup with all the fixings for dinner. It was a nice day.

I took Poppy Seed bread. This is one of our holiday favorites. I will be glad to share the recipe if anyone is interested.

I did some fabric shopping before Christmas. This is Moda's Louisa layer cake with some yardage for a border.

This is a pack of Charm Squares I bought called Gypsy Rose. Of course, it's by Moda. I thought this would make a nice bedroom throw.

After Christmas my daughter and I went yarn shopping. She is an engineer and an awesome knitter. Can you guess which yarn group she bought? Yes. She chose the pretty blue group. I, on the other hand, look like I closed my eyes and just grabbed whatever was close.

I actually did knit a scarf over Christmas but my daughter took it back to Alabama with her before I got a photo. Hope you are all having a Happy New Year.
